Invest

Over the last fifteen years, Interserve has invested in and sits on the shared partnership board for five operational PFI prisons in the UK. These include HMP Forest Bank, Bronzefield, Peterborough, Addiewell and Harmondsworth. We support these facilities through providing the financial capability to build and deliver them, whilst also committing to their long-term success, as well as delivering a design that leads to both cost savings and improved operational conditions. We are well-versed with the complexities of project finance and have a proven track record providing innovative financial or service solutions that are robust and give value to both the client and service provider. Our work with Welbeck - the Defence Sixth Form College, Building Schools for the Future and Department of Work and Pensions shows how we have been able to effectively develop a solution that enables government to achieve their goals from both a financial and social perspective.

Design

Interserve has extensive experience in the design of projects in the custodial, courts, policing, Home Office and immigration environments. Our design solutions have achieved a reduction in the combined capital and operational costs of up to 36 per cent for our justice clients. We have built and refurbished over 5,000 cells, reducing the cost per cell by 29 per cent through successive innovations. These innovations include concepts such as a cell window grille trickle vent system and an economical and durable cell light systems that maximise visibility and minimise opportunities for self-harm and reduce search times for prison officers. Examples include Addiewell prison, Her Majesty's Courts Service and the Immigration Detention Centre.

Construct

Interserve has been building in the custodial sector for over thirty years, and has developed specialised knowledge and understanding relative to secure environments. We have worked in over twenty prisons, with our latest scheme HMP Addiewell in Scotland being completed in December 2008. We have also delivered a 550-place Immigration Accommodation Centre at Harmondsworth and are currently building a 423-place Immigration Removal Centre at Gatwick. We are also on the HMPS Framework Agreements to supply house blocks and the Strategic Alliance framework for refurbishment works is currently delivering a diverse range of new and upgraded facilities in a number of UK prison establishments.

Support

Interserve delivers ongoing support to a range of secure environments for the UK government. This includes; a five-year, £100 million support services contract with the Home Office covering 575 buildings; a seven-year contract with the Metropolitan Police delivering £150 million of services across the southern half of the police estate, including New Scotland Yard. Our teams also provide 24/7, 365-day cover for civil emergencies, such as July 7th, where we implemented a disaster recovery programme, and consistent support for major planned events, such as Royal and civic occasions like Remembrance Sunday, Trooping the Colour and the Royal Wedding. We also deliver services in secure facilities for Her Majesty's Courts Service as well as for our clients in other sectors, such as the NHS at Oxford Littlemore Mental Health and the Ministry of Defence.

These partnerships are based on trust, commitment and an ability to deliver, whilst also providing services that help protect and support the interests of citizens nationwide. We work closely with our government partners to implement innovative facilities management solutions that support safe, reliable and efficient front-line public services that meet our clients' business needs whilst endeavouring to exceed operational expectations.
