Our experience

Interserve has a longstanding relationship with the Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service and Her Majesty's Prisons Service as well as working across a variety of central government, defence and health contracts. Interserve's considerable experience in a number of directly-relevant areas is outlined below:

Her Majesty's Prisons Service

Interserve is directly responsible for the design and delivery of the construction services to the PFI projects at Forest Bank, Bronzefield, Peterborough, Addiewell and Harmondsworth. The integration of design and operational requirements was critical to the success of these projects and the design experience of this team will be used in evaluating the potential for reconfiguration of physical and logistical aspects.

Littlemore Mental Health Centre

Since 2000, Interserve has operated the Littlemore Mental Health Centre, a medium secure unit for sectioned and detained patients. After constructing the PFI facility, we took responsibility for running a broad range of non-clinical support services including perimeter security, facilities management, catering, planned and reactive maintenance, and domestic services. Our employees on site are all trained in restraint techniques, risk management, and self-protection. Find out more.

University College London Hospital

Interserve has an extensive service delivery relationship with this foundation trust, where we provide guarding and security functions, CCTV response, control room operation, perimeter guarding and form part of the major incident response team. The hospital incident team, where our Managing Director is a trained Gold Commander, was mobilised during the July 7th bombings and worked closely with the Metropolitan Police and the UCLH Major Incident Team to support the disaster recovery process. During this incident Interserve delivered search, communications, access control, movement control, lock down and in-building logistics during the incident and its aftermath. Find out more.

Building Schools for the Future

Interserve was a major provider in the Building Schools for the Future programme, where, working with the customer, we designed the environment and logistics based on the core purpose of the school's local requirement. This is an outcome-based payment by results contract. The core output required was to reduce absenteeism or truancy, a particular local design was developed which was different from the local design required for a school whose core purpose was improving pupil attainment. Our physical design was matched to the drivers of the core outputs with our success being measured in terms of those outputs.

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Interserve has formed an innovative joint venture with specialists Rehab to form Rehab Job Fit (RJF). Using this partnership, Interserve has been awarded two of the contracts, which are the first to operate under a payment by results regime. Key to our delivery success in this area is partnering with specialist organisations. Many organisations with whom we partner are SMEs and voluntary sector organisations, which is consistent with our understanding of government's strategic direction. 44 per cent of our supply chain for DWP is third sector and our supplier relationships are based on a long-term commitment.
